Animation Hotline is a voicemail for lonely animation filmmakers and artists. The cancellation of so many festivals lately has stopped happy spontaneous discussions. I wanted to hear and share news from those animation creators, giving them the opportunity to leave a message, without any pressure. Animation Hotline c'est une messagerie vocale pour auteurs et artistes isolé.e.s. L'annulation de trop nombreux festivals depuis plus d'un an a coupé court aux heureuses discussions spontanées. J'ai eu envie de prendre et de donner des nouvelles de ces créatrices et auteurs d'animation, en leur laissant la liberté de s'exprimer sans pression de l'immédiateté.
Sophie Koko is an illustrator and filmmaker living in England. She studied and graduated from the Royal College of Art where she created the short film "Half wet". From educational content to music videos, she directed various animations, with a unique visual style and an uncommon sense of humor. She is also part of F.A.T. Studio and was used to co-run the screening event Easy Ease for animation enthusiasts.

Agnès Patron réalise ses deux premiers films en peinture animée "La Valse du pendu" et "La Veuve caillou" lors de ses études à l'ENSAD. Elle travaille ensuite à l'animation du teaser du long-métrage de Florence Miailhe "La Traversée", sorti en salles à l'automne dernier. En 2015, elle co-réalise avec Cerise Lopez, le mystique "Chulyen, histoire de Corbeau", produit par Ikki films et de nombreuses fois récompensé. Elle crée enfin son court-métrage "L'Heure de l'ours", produit par Sacrebleu et sélectionné au 72ème Festival de Cannes. Lucrèce Andreae demandait de ses nouvelles dans son épisode du 7 janvier, et voici son message !

Sean Buckelew is an animation filmmaker living in California.
He studied in Chicago at the School of the Art Institute, and then at CalArts in Experimental Animation. Besides his filmmaker's activities, he is also a member of the online collective Late Night Work Club, the co-host of the Movie Buddies podcast, and one of the programmers at the GLAS Animation Festival. He directed the moving "Lovestreams", and lately the hilarious short "I'm not a robot".

L'artiste Nicolas Liguori a découvert l'animation à l'ESAAT et s'est plongé depuis dans la pratique de médiums variés tels que la peinture, le pastel, le crayon et le fusain, pour créer des œuvres en animation traditionnelle…On se souvient notamment Du "Vent dans les roseaux", coréalisé avec Arnaud Demuynck. Parallèlement, il enseigne l'animation et collabore à de nombreux films animés, dont "La Moufle" de Clémentine Robach, et ceux de Regina Pessoa. Il participe en 2015 à une résidence d’expérimentation sur l’écran d’épingles avec Michèle Lemieux, puis à la résidence de la Cinémathèque québécoise en 2017.

Alex Boya is a director and writer from Bulgaria, based in Canada. He studied animation and film at Concordia University. We met in 2014 in Montreal, when he was hosted by the NFB, involved in the program for young filmmakers called "HotHouse". He directed "Focus", a short film inspired by medical illustrations and using the techniques of etching and engraving. Then, in 2018 the short film "Turbine", also produced by the NFB.
Lately, he started the development of an ambitious hybrid project, called "The Mill", a creative world-building experiment, graphic novel and film.
